25th-Nov-2006 02:21 pm - This just in: Dinnerware Vetoed
Mr. Sunflower has vetoed the Antique Olive dinnerware!! Imagine my suprise - afterall, this is the same man who told me, and I quote, "I don't care what I eat off of." Let the new search begin.
24th-Nov-2006 12:51 am - How could I forget!
Our 3rd ringbearer made his appearance on October 20th! He'll be 1 and change by the time our wedding rolls around, so we're thinking of rolling him down the aisle in a wagon. Welcome Dominic Christopher!

23rd-Nov-2006 01:04 pm - A planning lull...
Things have been relatively quiet here on the Sunflower Wedding front. With the major vendors booked, there's at least another couple of months before we book the limos and florist. I haven't had a chance to go dress hunting yet due to a series of health complications for both Mr. Sunflower and myself and I'm feeling kind of down in the dumps.

We did, however, begin registering for a few things at Bed, Bath & Beyond. After much thought, we decided not to register for fine china b/c we're just not fine china people. Instead, we've registered for two different sets of everyday/casual dinnerware:

"Cappuccino" from Pfaltzgraff:

"Antique Olive" from BBB (including the accessories, not shown here):

I've also decided on our wedding song, since Mr. Sunflower feels like I should be making all of these decisions, much to my irritation: "When You Say You Love Me", by Josh Groban. SO beautiful. I was pushing Van Morrison's "Crazy Love" for a while, but Mr. Sunflower gets too emotional when he hears it and apparently doesn't feel like breaking down into a blubbering mess during our first dance. So, Josh Groban it is. I like that song just as much, though, so it's not a huge deal.

Anyway, that's it for now...

A very happy and healthy Thanksgiving to you all!
29th-Oct-2006 09:24 pm - Color Mosaic!
With help from Ally, I made a mosaic of my color scheme using the swatches from Denver Fabrics:

29th-Oct-2006 05:30 pm - Wedding Bands
Here's a pic of my e-ring and the matching band:

Mr. Sunflower plans on getting two of the bands for me to wear on either side of the ring - my mom has something very similar and he likes the look...as do I :)

I've been looking for some ideas for Mr. Sunflower's wedding bands - I say bandS because I'd like him to have something plain to wear everyday to work, as well as a dressier band for special/family/evening outtings. Here are some ideas:

Everyday

Dressy

Now if only I could get him to look at them and let me know what style he likes!
28th-Oct-2006 05:35 pm - Pier 1 Imports
I stopped into Pier 1 one afternoon after work just to see what kind of merchandise they had to offer and I found some things that I really like. I think I may have to talk to Mr. Sunflower about the possibility registering for a few things there:

Autumn Leaf Dinnerware

Brown Carafe Dinnerware

Blue Mum Dinnerware

Sanctuary Dinnerware

Leaf Serving Dishes

TriColor Stemware

Fuego Serving Bowl
28th-Oct-2006 01:32 pm - Wedding Registries
Just out of curiousity...for those of you who are already registered, how many stores are you registered at? One, two, three, three+. Three+ sounds like a lot, but I've been getting different kinds of input from everyone.
28th-Oct-2006 12:48 pm - Color Scheme
I did a search on the site today to find the Denver Fabric posts. I can't figure out a way to make my own little mosaic, so I'm going to just wing it from swatches I borrowed from Venus Bridal. If someone can help me make it look like an actual mosaic, I would greatly appreciate it :)

26th-Oct-2006 05:23 pm - Engagement Party = Success!
Our party (two Sundays ago) was a total success! The food was fabulous, the decorations looked great, my menus came in handy (especially for the great aunts and uncles, who kind of get lost in the shuffle when a buffet is involved), and everyone had a great time! Here are some photos from the affair:

Mr. Sunflower & I

The Bridal Party (take note of the girl holding the little boy - my cousin & MOH. She is yelling at her son on the floor in every single shot - it's absolutely hilarious)

Mom & Grandma's Homemade Cookies (each table had a tray - the guests were eating them even before dinner was served)

The Buffet Table

The Cake (vanilla cake with cannoli filling - absolutely DELICIOUS! I was, however, mildly annoyed that the flowers did not match the theme. Does that qualify as being crazed?)

Me, after taking 400 hundred pictures...

Everything was very nice. We had bouquets of pearlized lavender and white balloons on each table, along with the cookie trays, menus, and mini bags of M&Ms (which also disappeared prior to dinner). I asked my future SIL to take pictures of each table's set-up while I was talking to guests, but...alas, she did not. I was sad for a few days...oh well. I got over it :)
